The bug fanatic that I am, I would really like to know the scientific name of this fascinating creature. (Those who know me, know how far from the truth that statement actually is). I would run from my shadow if it creeped upon me. This bug would cause me to scream my head off if I came eye to eye with it. But nevertheless, I would like to know what the heck it is. So, any guesses or suggestions as to how to find out the real name of this creature? Go for it!

Just Around The Curve

Expressions of Inspiration for today, August 8, 2007.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." Psalm 40:1-2

I remember a road trip years ago, which taught me a valuable lesson on faith and patience, which I have never forgotten. I was travelling with my cousin to a church located in a rural area of Georgia. Neither of us had ever attempted a road trip before, and neither of us had a very keen sense of direction. However, after receiving clear-cut directions, we were confident that we would reach our destination. We followed the directions until we finally saw the sign welcoming us to the state of Georgia. We got off at the exit specified on the directions. We rode, and rode, and rode, but did not see the sign indicating that we had reached the town we were looking for. It had already passed the time in which we should have arrived. We stopped and asked for directions and were told that we were headed in the right direction. He said for us to keep driving and we would see the sign after we topped a hill. We rode until we finally saw that we were approaching a hill. We topped the hill and, of course, the road just kept going with no sign in sight. We topped another hill, and no sign. I told my cousin that I was going to go a little bit further and if we didn't see the sign we were looking for, we were going to turn around and head back. Just as I was looking for a safe place to turn around, I thought to myself, we have come much too far to turn around now, and I continued to drive. Just as I turned the next curve, we saw the welcome sign, as well as the street sign that led to the church.

How many times have we wanted something so very badly from God? We prayed, and we prayed and prayed, but it seemed that we were getting no answer. We asked for directions and thought surely, we were doing something wrong. We are told that we are heading in the right direction and to just keep on praying. We prayed through the sunshine, prayed through the rain, up hills and down hills. We finally reached the point where we gave up and stopped asking and believing and accepted less than our hopes, dreams and expectations. Once our faith stops and we stop believing, we hinder the process of God's blessings for us. How many blessings have we missed because we failed to go the extra mile? Never stop believing. Never give up on your dreams of reaching your goal or destination. You never know how very close you may have been to getting there. Your blessing could have been waiting for you, just around the very next curve!

Prayer: Father in Heaven, no matter how difficult the road may seem, please give me the faith and determination to hold on to my dreams and the courage to never give up. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

God bless. Peace

First of Hopefully Many Expressions of Inspiration (this time the contents, oops)

Greetings. I am pleased to share with you my expressions of inspiration for today, August 7, 2007. My heart feels heavy at times when I allow myself to dwell on the condition of this world, and how progressively it appears to be self-destructing. I sometimes ask myself, "what the heck is going on?" Well, I'm beginning to understand somewhat the answer to that question. "There is no new thing under the sun". Everything that is happening now, was happening in past generations at some degree, even Bible days. Just as there were answers and solutions and understanding then, there are also now. Where? How? In the Word of God. That is where I have found my answers to what is going on, as well as my comfort and peace of mind in the midst of it all. We are simply, "reaping what we have sown". Galatians 6:7-9 states:

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".

It appears that morality and well doing had a fainting spell a long time ago and has not found a smelling salt potent enough to rouse it as of yet. But, there really is hope, and it begins with each one of us.

I found out years ago that life was so much easier and more pleasant when I truly learned to "do unto others as I would have them do unto me". In other words, treat people the way I want them to treat me, or my loved ones. I have made that my life's motto. I truly believe that if more individuals would adopt that motto, especially world leaders, city officials, employers, co-workers, even each individual household, the condition of this world would greatly improve. How simple that seems, to simply treat others the way you wish to be treated. No better time to make that vow than now. People will notice the change in your character and the way you handle everyday situations. When they ask what's gotten into you, simply give them the spill about your vow to do unto others... Believe me, it is not a cliche'. I know from experience, whatsoever you sow, you will reap, whether it is goodness or bad, honesty or deceit.

As I close, the expression of inspiration that I would most like for you to think about, the message that I want you to remember is that even in the midst of a seemingly uncaring, self-destructive world, if you allow goodness, kindness and peace to be sown in your neck of the woods, you will reap those things in your personal life. So, be careful of what you say, be careful of what you do, because the affects of them will in some shape, form or fashion be returned back to you.

Prayer: Father God help me to become a better person and sincerely make the vow to do unto others as I would have them do unto me. Let my life be an example for others who may notice the change in me and desire the same change for themselves. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

God bless. Peace.

About the TEL

I was able to find some detailed information regarding diabetes that will help me to better maintain and keep things better under control. The articles were really informative. I will continue to experiment with this as I think about other subjects that I would like to know more about.

I just did this because I was asked to do so. See ya

Just Here To Spread A Little Sunshine

This is my very first blog, and I'm so excited and proud of myself for taking advantage of this opportunity. I'm also excited about the possibility of becoming the blog to "go to"when you simply need a few words of encouragement and inspiration in a world that sometimes appears so dark and full of despair. I am thankful to be blessed with a gift to compose inspirational writings and poetry. I am actually in the process of collecting all of the poetry that I have written over the course of the many years in which God has inspired me to write and have them published. I have no idea how to go about it, but I do feel compelled to do so, and I'm sure that when I get it completed, the means to have it published will be revealed to me. I will post some of my poetry from time to time just to give you an example of the style of poetry that I write and the messages that I try to relay. I will let you know now, that I am all about uplifting my Lord and Savior in all that I do, and that is the foundation of my writings. So in closing, I will probably be known as "little Ms. Ray of Sunshine" before it's over, and that will be just fine with me, because believe me, I have learned the hard way how to turn lemons into lemonade, smile when I would rather cry, and look for the good in even the most undesirable of characters. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I hope that I will in some way be a source of inspiration to you in the future. God Bless!
